09/25/15 Longmont Times Call Trojans get defensive, go to 4-0 "...senior Cooper Rothe did a little bit of everything. By the end of the game, Rothe had intercepted a pass, scored a touchdown, deflected three passes, made five tackles, blocked a point-after attempt and was a perfect 6 for 6 on point-after attempts of his own. "Cooper is the best corner in the state and the best kicker in the state," Trojans head coach Doug Johnson said. "I'm really proud of him. He's a great teammate and a great leader. 05/04/15 Longmont Times Call Athletes of the Week The ultra competitive Northern League title race came down to a Saturday doubleheader for the Trojans, and Rothe provided some fireworks with homeruns in each game... as LHS swept Thompson Valley and Mountain View. He had a solid week overall in five games, going 6 for 17 with seven runs and four RBI's. 04/23/15 Max Preps Player of the Game: #2 Cooper Rothe Cooper went 2-4 with a bases clearing double that opened up a 3-0 game in the 4th inning. He also stole his 14th base of the season. 03/08/14 Longmont Times Call BASEBALL: 2015 SEASON PREVIEW CAPSULES A phenomenal athlete who cracked a veteran-laden lineup as a sophomore last season and batted .315. He's one of the area's finest center fielders. 07/11/14 BoCoPreps Longmont/Erie swings way past Boulder Purple in NIT ...and solo home runs from Cooper Rothe and Miguel Moroyoqui in the fifth and sixth innings kept some distance between the teams. 07/10/14 BoCoPreps Longmont/Erie bounces back against Bear Creek ...and Cooper Rothe (4 for 8 with four runs and two RBI's Thursday) hit a big one in the fifth inning to create a bit of separation. A beast at the top of the order, Rothe was instrumental in the field of play, too. You just don't go to sleep on him. That's carried over to the basketball court for the Class 4A No. 1-ranked Longmont boys basketball team. One of the area's premier ball-hawking defensive players on the gridiron, Rothe showed on Saturday night against Skyline that he translates a lot of that quickness to the hardwood. When that's your 6th man, you know you've got something good... Rothe came off the bench to score seven points in the first half, but more importantly was a spark plug for the Trojans with his passing and defense as Longmont blew the game open very early. "Cooper, he's got such quickness and lateral movement. It's fun to watch him move his feet, stay in from of his man and defend the way he does." (Longmont Coach Jeff Kloster) |
